Ansbach Elementary Celebrates Military Connected Students at Annual MOMC Dance
ANSBACH, Germany – Ansbach Elementary School celebrated the Month of the Military Child (MOMC) on April 18, 2026, with its annual dance, bringing together kindergarten through fifth‑grade students and their families for an evening of fun, creativity, and connection. The event was sponsored by the Ansbach Elementary School PTSA and held at the Ansbach Middle High School cafeteria to honor and recognize the resilience and experiences of military‑connected children.
The MOMC Dance gave students a chance to celebrate their identity as military children in a joyful, community‑centered setting. Students arrived dressed in their best outfits or embraced the popular “Glow‑Up” theme, wearing bright neon clothing and accessories that lit up the dance floor.
“The Month of the Military Child is about celebrating the strength and adaptability of our students,” said Victoria Viola, AES PTSA President. “This dance gave students a safe and positive space to express themselves and feel proud of who they are.”
PTSA members and parent volunteers played a vital role in making the event successful. Volunteers helped decorate the space, handed out snacks, served as DJs, and chaperoned to ensure a fun and safe evening for all attendees. The PTSA also distributed glow sticks, glow necklaces, and colorful sunglasses, adding to the excitement and energy of the night.
A special highlight of the evening was the Month of the Military Child Art Wall, sponsored by Ms. Kelli. The interactive display allowed students to creatively express what it means to grow up in a military family through drawings and written reflections.
“My favorite part was the art wall because I got to draw about moving and making new friends,” said John T., fifth‑grade student. “It made me feel like people understand military kids.”
Parents also shared positive feedback about the event and its purpose.
“Events like this help children feel connected and supported,” said Crystal Lecuyer, parent volunteer. “It was great to see families come together and celebrate what makes our kids unique.”
The MOMC Dance was well attended and filled with music, laughter, and celebration. By bringing students, families, staff, and volunteers together, the event reinforced the school’s commitment to supporting military‑connected children.
