Ansbach Elementary School PTSA hosts “A Night at the Gallery”
ANSBACH, Germany — Ansbach Elementary School came alive with creativity, community spirit, and celebration during its “A Night at the Gallery” event, hosted by the Ansbach Elementary School Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA).
Led by President Violet Viola, Secretary Justine Knight and Treasurer Jessica Roberts, the PTSA transformed the school into an elegant black-and-white-themed gallery, showcasing student artwork and fostering a strong sense of community among students, staff and families.
In preparation for the event, Viola spent months collecting and curating artwork from students across all grade levels. The school gym was lined with student-created pieces, each thoughtfully displayed to highlight the creativity and imagination of young artists. Families were encouraged to dress in black-and-white attire, adding to the evening’s gallery atmosphere as students proudly shared their work with parents, teachers and peers.
The evening also featured a musical performance directed by Dr. Whitney Mansell, the school’s fine arts teacher. In celebration of Music in Our Schools Month, the Ansbach Elementary School choir performed three selections, accompanied by student instrumentation. The students, who had been rehearsing after school since January, were met with enthusiastic applause.
The event extended beyond visual and performing arts with a schoolwide book fair organized by kindergarten teacher Kardawnzelle Abdullah. Families browsed and purchased books, connecting literacy with the evening’s focus on creativity and learning.
The PTSA also provided refreshments, creating a welcoming environment where families and staff could gather and celebrate student achievements. Participants in both the gallery showcase and choir performance were recognized with certificates and tokens of appreciation, ensuring each student’s contributions were acknowledged.
As the evening concluded, organizers shared plans to continue the tradition, with early discussions already underway for an expanded event during the 2026–2027 school year. The success of “A Night at the Gallery” highlighted the strength of the school’s community and its commitment to supporting student creativity and connection.
