ANSBACH, Germany — Ansbach Elementary School’s Student Council demonstrated strong leadership and community spirit this month through two successful fundraising initiatives that brought students together in support of others.

Student Council members organized a canned food and toy drive that collected more than 300 canned goods for the base food pantry operated by the Spouses Club, helping support military families in need. Students also donated more than 40 new toys, which will be delivered to a local orphanage. The class contributing the most canned goods was recognized with a hot chocolate and candy cane celebration.

In addition to the drive, the Student Council hosted a special showing of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, welcoming more than 170 students and raising funds for future activities. Proceeds will support school dances, prizes for schoolwide contests, and a campus beautification project that includes planting flowers at the front of the school.

Funds will also support a new student-led transition program for incoming students. Working in collaboration with the Military and Family Life Counselor, Student Council members will serve as tour guides to help new students feel welcomed and connected to the school community.

Through these efforts, the Ansbach Elementary Student Council continues to model leadership, service and teamwork while making a meaningful impact on their school and beyond.
